Vicky L. Holt is weirdly punctual for someone who has ADHD, often sees humor in the mundane and is curious about nearly everything in the world. When she’s not sculpting lifelike animals in the sands of Lake Michigan, she can sometimes be found doing random acts of kindness for strangers but is almost always in the company of her feral goldendoodle and some of her children, two of which have special needs.
Vicky began making stuff up creative writing at a young age, but it wasn’t until a major upheaval in her family that she turned to writing as both an escape and a technique to process the emotional roller coaster that was her new life. The chaos came in the form of unexpected special needs parenting that required around the clock care, vast stores of patience, lots of research, and an inhuman tolerance for fecal matter. Making these circumstances even harder were Vicky’s tendencies to misjudge the passing of time, allot priority to the wrong activity, and think she can do everything by herself without asking for help.
Reading used to serve as her purest form of escapism, but she branched out into world-building where IRL realities could be bent more to her will in science fiction romance. If her novels contain more poop jokes than is socially acceptable, just know that that is Vicky’s way of processing the discomfort often found in special needs situations.
Some of the highlights of Ms. Holt’s writing career were having alternative fiction short stories published in numerous literary journals, achieving the number one best-selling tag on Amazon for her debut novel 97: The Warlochs’ Pact, and accruing dozens and dozens of five-star reviews for her current science fiction romance series, Predator Planet. Science Fiction Romance’s own ambassador, Ruby Dixon, has given the Predator Planet series her seal of approval, numbering it among her Top Ten God Tier list and naming Ms. Holt one of the most underrated Science Fiction Romance authors. With several more titles waiting in the wings, Vicky expects to write well into her dotage, possibly even ushering in the advent of flying cars and quantum home computers. At the very least, she hopes to witness the invention of affordable teleportation, because having her adult children thousands of miles away is no fun.
